Energy Team Selected to Compete in MIT EnergyHack

Happy Halloween!

Our Energy Team has applied and have been selected as one of the teams competing in MIT EnergyHack this year! The team, compromising of Fayaz Damani (Lead), Parsa Shani, Sophie Varabioff, and Mustafa Adil, will participate in the main hackathon event happening between November 6 to 8 where they will work to address problem statements set forth by industry sponsors. The themes for this year’s contest are “Reliable and Sustainable Energy, Efficient and Sustainable Cities”, with four challenge statement categories (Business, Planning, Energy Storage, and Data Driven). On top of this, teams admitted will also get 5 days of networking events and professional development. Part of UBC Smart City’s mission is to help our members build industry connections and we are excited that they will get this opportunity and experience as well. We wish our team the best of luck and look forward to seeing the results!
